+ Guangcai, an over-glazed canton decorated porcelain, has more than 300 years of history. Tracing back to the Qing Dynasty, Thousand Flowers is one of the traditional patterns of Guangcai. Yuet Tung China Works has been producing Guangcai in Hong Kong since 1928. Due to labour shortage and high production cost, Yuet Tung has stopped hand-painting this pattern for over 30 years. In 2020, Mr. Tso Wing Shui, 2nd generation of Yuet Tung China Works, wished the traditional Guangcai Thousand Flowers pattern could be passed down, he instructed his granddaughter, Martina Tso, to redraw the Thousand Flowers pattern and use transfer printing technique for mass production and add a gloss gold finish by hand for final touch. The porcelain ware was fired at 800 degree at the kiln after painting.
